Full-time Bentley faculty who would like to borrow research materials from one of these area libraries may apply for a borrowing card that is sponsored by the Bentley library. Please allow two to three business days for an e-mail response to your application.

Boston College Library

Physical access to collections Borrowing Card Privileges
The Boston College Libraries (excluding the Law Library) are open to the public. During exam period however, in the Fall and Spring, access to the O'Neill Library is limited. During these two periods entrance to the building is limited to Boston College students, faculty, and staff after 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday. From 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, the library remains open to non-Boston College users.

Borrowing privileges extend to all libraries except the Law Library and the Educational Resource Center. To ask specific questions regarding borrowing privileges, contact the O'Neill Circulation Desk at 617.552.8038. Cards are issued for three-month or one-year periods.

 

 

Boston University Library

Physical access to collections Borrowing Card Privileges
The Boston University Libraries (including Mugar Memorial, Pappas Law, and Medical Libraries) are open to the public. Contact the Circulation Desk at 617.353.3732 to verify hours. Borrowing privileges are extended only to those associated with Boston University.

Harvard College Library

Physical access to collections Borrowing Card Privileges

A borrowing card is required to gain physical access to collections. Once a borrowing card has been secured, the following privileges apply.

Borrowing, Stacks Browsing and Reading Room Privileges Only in the following libraries:
Biological Laboratories Library

Harvard-Yenching Library

Cabot Science Library

Lamont Library (alumni/ae of Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges only; no reserves borrowing)

Center for European Studies Library

Relations/Sociology Library

Eda Kuhn Loeb Music Library

Tozzer Library

Fine Arts Library

Widener Library
Gutman Educational Library

Wolbach Library of the Harvard College Observatory

Gordon McKay Library of the Division of Applied Sciences

 

Stacks Browsing and Reading Room Privileges Only in the following libraries:
The Baker Library (HBS) is open to faculty who present a valid faculty ID, but does not offer borrowing cards or borrowing privileges
Lamont Library
Library of the Gray Herbarium (with second photo ID)

Reading Room Privileges Only in Houghton Library (with two photo IDs)

Borrowing privileges within the Harvard College Library are extended to individuals who hold either a current Harvard ID or an HCL Special Borrower Card. ID cards are not transferable. (Note: In Harvard-Yenching Library, certain borrowing privileges are granted by the head librarian, and in Lamont Library the Special Borrower Card must be embossed with a "C" or "U".) Cards are issued for three/six/twelve-month periods.

MIT Libraries

Physical access to collections Borrowing Card Privileges
You may access the MIT Libraries' open stack collections, government depository material, and the Institute Archives. Visitors are welcome, although restrictions apply during exam periods in December and May. Users without MIT library borrowing privileges may be asked to register at the circulation desk of the library they are using.

Most materials may be borrowed for a maximum of four weeks and are non-renewable. To ask specific questions regarding borrowing privileges, contact Document Services at 617.253.5650. Cards are issued for year and half-year periods.

 

Tufts Main Library (Tisch)

Physical access to collections Borrowing Card Privileges
Visitors are welcome at the Tisch Library. No check-in or registration is required.

Most materials may be borrowed for a maximum of four weeks and are non-renewable. To ask specific questions regarding borrowing privileges, contact the Circulation Desk at 617.627.3347. Cards are issued for one year or six-month periods.

 

Wellesley College Library

Physical access to collections Borrowing Card Privileges
The Wellesley College Library is open to the public. Contact the Circulation Desk at 781.283.2166 to verify hours. Borrowing privileges are extended only to those associated with Wellesley College.
