Off-campus Access to Online Resources
Most library databases can be accessed using your Bentley University username and network password. In most cases when a user is asked to provide a Bentley University username and password they will be authenticated via Bentley's proxy server. A limited number of electronic resources require that users first register with the database provider using valid Bentley University e-mail address (@bentley.edu).
While the library's catalog does not require users to authenticate, local or remote access users can use the Bentley University ID card to take advantage of many of the advanced features of the catalog -- including placing holds on materials, renewing materials, and checking due dates online.
What is My Network Password?
Your network password is the same password you would use when logging into a computer at Bentley, or your M: drive/department's N: drive. If you are a faculty/student/staff who has never logged into the Bentley network or your network password has been reset to default, you must change your password before you can login in. You may do this on campus by logging into the network or you can remotely set up your network password, and then login. If you do not remember this password please call the help desk at x2854 (781-891-2854), and tell them you need help with your network password. Note: Remote users who access Library resources via the proxy server will need to have their web browser set to accept cookies.
Resources that Require Registration
A few library resources require users to create accounts before authentication will be granted.
Mintel Reports and MediaMark MRI require users to register using a Bentley University e-mail address

Library Card
Your Bentley University ID card is also your Library Card. Bring your University ID to the Library Services Desk to have the barcode on the back registered in the library's catalog system and to have a four-digit PIN assigned to your account. With the barcode number on the back of your registered Bentley University ID and your four-digit PIN, you will be able to access the self-checkout system near the Library Services desk. Questions regarding library barcodes and PINs should be directed to the Library Services Desk at 781.891.2168.
