Dr. Knutel is Director of Academic Technology, Library, and Research Services. He provides strategic direction regarding the use of technology in the curriculum and the research services available to faculty and students. From 1998-2002, he was Director of Academic Technology at Bentley and managed 11 staff at the Academic Technology Center. In October, 2002, he was promoted to his current role, which added responsibility for Bentley's library and research services.

Dr. Knutel was Project Director of the Bentley Technology Adoption Initiative, a program that helped faculty integrate technology into the curriculum which received $275,000 in external funding. He received his Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Michigan, holds an Ed.M. from Harvard, and a B.S. magna cum laude from Vanderbilt. His 1998 dissertation focused on how and why faculty use computer and internet technology in their teaching. Before coming to Bentley, he was Director of Academic Technology at the University of Michigan Office of Academic Outreach. A member of EDUCAUSE and the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), Dr. Knutel has published several articles and is a regular presenter at a variety of EDUCAUSE and online learning conferences.

Debra Sugrue serves as the Director of Operations for Academic Technology, Library, and Research Services. Her responsibilities include overseeing short and long-term planning, budgeting, administration and operational management of academic technology, library, and research resources and initiatives. She serves as a primary facilitator for transforming pedagogical and research initiatives into operational realities fully integrated into the Bentley infrastructure. Additionally, she is responsible for general oversight and financial project management for specialty lab facilities as well as specialized technology in our library and classroom buildings. She also conducts feasibility analyses and implementation strategies of innovative applications of technology into the Bentley IT infrastructure.

Debra has been at Bentley for over fifteen years, and was Director of Systems for seven years prior to joining the ATC in 1999. She holds a BS in Business Administration and CIS from Roger Williams University and an MBA (concentration in Management) from Bentley. Before coming to Bentley, Debra held numerous technical positions in the manufacturing sector including Database Administrator, Project Manager, and Systems Design Analyst.

Cathy is Manager of Circulation Services at the library. Along with a team of 5 staff members and 30 students she supervises the daily operation of Circulation, Reserves, Document Delivery/Interlibrary Loan and the stack maintenance of the library's collections.

Cathy joined Bentley College in 1989 and held two other positions in the Circulation Department before becoming Manager in 1998.

Donna joined the Bentley community in May 2002. Donna has many years of working experience in libraries, both here and in Canada. Donna is a Circulation Coordinator in Library Services and responsible for covering Saturday. Donna also works in the Interlibrary Loan Department.

Joining Bentley in 1996, Barbara is now the assistant manager in circulation services. She is the reserves coordinator and assists other circ staff with the periodical and video collection, student staffing, and general circulation desk duties.

Ami is a Circulation Coordinator, performing a variety of duties that include stack maintenance, supervising and training student assistants, and responding to student and faculty requests to improve library services. Before coming to Bentley, Ami was a Circulation Supervisor for the Tippecanoe County Public Library in Lafayette, Indiana for two years. She attended Indiana University Northwest on a full scholarship, graduated magna cum laude with a BA in English Literature, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the student newspaper. She is currently pursuing her MLS degree from Drexel University, and will graduate in June 2008.

Amy Galante has served as the Bentley College Interlibrary Loan Supervisor since the summer of 2006. Prior to her arrival at Bentley, she worked as an Interlibrary Loan Assistant at Tufts University’s Tisch Library. Amy earned her B.A. in Humanities, with a focus on Creative Non-Fiction and a minor in Arts Journalism, from Bradford College. While studying at Bradford, she spent four years as a student supervisor in the Circulation Department the Hemingway Library.

As Reference Services Manager, Sheila coordinates the activities of the Reference Department and assists faculty and students with their informational needs, teaches classes, and selects materials for the library's collection. She purchases videos and has primary responsibility for selecting and evaluating books in the subject areas of accounting, economics, finance, and financial planning and taxation. Before coming to Bentley, Sheila was a social sciences librarian at the University of Oregon. She has a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Library Science from the University of Oregon.

Lisa has been a Reference Librarian and the Coordinator of User Education at the Solomon R. Baker Library since August of 2000. As part of the Reference team she provides research assistance to students, faculty and staff. Lisa also assists with the evaluation and selection of library resources, and has collection development responsibilities for marketing, psychology, religion and interdisciplinary behavioral sciences/social sciences. As Coordinator of User Education, she develops instructional materials and is the point-of-contact person for all library instruction sessions held in the Research Instruction Center (RIC). Lisa holds BA in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of Rhode Island

As Reference/Cataloging Librarian, Macee divides her time between the Departments of Technical Services and Reference & Research Assistance. As Cataloging Librarian, she catalogs books for the Library’s collection and works on special cataloging projects.  As Reference Librarian, she provides research assistance at the Reference Desk and by appointment, and teaches classes on how to use the library’s resources. She is Faculty Liaison for the Modern Languages department and the Gender Studies program, and selects books and other materials in these disciplines for the library’s collection.

Macee holds a B.S. in Secondary Education with a concentration in English from the University of Maine at Farmington and an MLS from Simmons College. Before coming to Bentley, she worked in the MIT Libraries and at Brandeis University.

As a Reference Librarian, Karen assists faculty, students and staff in the use of the library resources by answering specific inquiries, suggesting search strategies, and providing assistance in the use of the library's catalog, electronic and print resources, and research tools. She develops library resource guides to support student and faculty research and information literacy. In addition to orientation tours and teaching individual research classes she works with faculty to develop course specific instruction to support curriculum. She also develops workshops and related instructional materials for students, staff, administrative departments, and faculty.

She regularly reviews new materials and resources in order to enhance the collection and services with responsibility for English, International Studies, Diversity, and Modern Languages. She is also responsible for the development of the Audiobooks Collection, the Careers Collection, and the vertical file. She participates in Library outreach by coordinating Library Exhibits and serving on committees or working on projects supporting college-wide initiatives.

Karen holds a BA in English from Boston College and an MLS from Simmons College. Before coming to Bentley she worked as a Serials and Reference Librarian at the Newton Free Library and as a high school English teacher.

Kim Morin is a Reference Librarian with over 14 years experience in Academic Libraries. As part of the Reference team, she provides research assistance to students, faculty and staff. She teaches library instruction classes and offers workshops on specific research topics. Kim also assists with collection development responsibilities in the areas of Natural & Applied Sciences, Philosophy and World History. She holds a B.S. in History from Fitchburg State College, and Masters of Library and Information Studies from the University of Rhode Island. Recommendations for book, video, database, or journal purchases are always welcome.

Colleen is a member of the reference department at the Baker Library where she provides research assistance to students, faculty, and staff. She is the subject collector for the management and mathematics departments. Additionally, she teaches course-sensitive instruction classes in using the library's many resources. Colleen offers individual appointments for guidance in developing search strategies and information gathering techniques. Colleen received her B.A. from Boston College and her MLS from Simmons College. Before coming to Bentley College, she worked in the libraries at Boston College, Harvard University, and Pine Manor College

Stephen is the Reference Librarian for Electronic Resources in the Solomon Baker Library. His duties include selecting Internet resources, databases and information services for use by members of the Bentley Community. He maintains the Library webpage. He also provides bibliographic instruction via Library classes, the Reference Desk and by appointment. He acts as librarian liaison for International Studies, Information Design and Corporate Communication, Computer Information Systems, and Information and Process Management.

Prior to coming to Bentley he was a research assistant at the Florida Design Initiative, at the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, Tallahassee, FL, and then the Coordinator of Library Services at Roxbury Community College, Roxbury, MA. He holds a B.A. in History and a M.S. in Information Studies from Florida State University.

Donna is the Manager of Technical Services in the library, which includes acquisitions, serials, cataloging, and processing. Her primary responsibilities are cataloging and maintaining quality control of the library catalog. Donna holds a B.A. in English and Spanish literature from Colby College and a M.S. in Library and Information Science from Simmons College. Before coming to Bentley in 2001, she was the Senior Cataloger at Emerson College, in Boston.

Enza Rapatano-O'Connell is the Acquisitions/Serials Supervisor in the Technical Services department of the library. Her responsibilities include the purchase, receipt, payment, processing and budget tracking of the library's capital and some operational educational materials. Enza received her B.S. in Management from Bentley and has worked in the library for more than 20 years.

Kate Richards is the part-time Acquisitions/Serials Assistant in the Technical Services department of the library. The majority of her time is spent researching and ordering books for the library's collection. Kate joined Bentley in 1988 after receiving her B.S. from Westfield State College and has held several other positions within the library.
